Player Assessments
Each athlete in Pirate Fastpitch is assessed twice a year. This data is used to track the players progress, to help in deciding their team placement and to give valuable information to their coach on the athlete's current abilities and  opportunities for growth.

Fall Assessments
8U & 10U: Tuesday, September 12
12U: Wednesday, September 13

USA Softball Division Cutoff Change

8-Under Age Classification
Born September 2014 - August 2017
A player whose 9th birthday is prior to September 1, 2014 is INELIGIBLE for 8U  

10-Under Age Classification
• Born September 2012 - August 2014
• A player whose 11th birthday is prior to September 1, 2012 is INELIGIBLE for 10U

12-Under Age Classification
• Born September 2010 - August 2012
• A player whose 13th birthday is prior to September 1, 2010 is INELIGIBLE for 12U

14-Under Age Classification
• Born September 2008 - August 2010
• A player whose 15th birthday is prior to September 1, 2008, is INELIGIBLE for 14U

16-Under Age Classification
Born September 2006 - August 2008
• A player whose 17th birthday is prior to September 1, 2006, is INELIGIBLE for 16U

17-Under Age Classification
Born September 2005 - August 2008
• A player whose 17th birthday is prior to September 1, 2006, is INELIGIBLE for 16U

If your daughter is affected by this change, and you believe your daughter would benefit from playing in the next division up, please contact your age rep to petition for a review. Each petition will be reviewed based on the athlete's skills assessment, coach recommendation and registration numbers.

• Born Sept 2014 - Aug 2015
• 4 away tournaments & the home tournament
• At least 2 kid pitch tournaments

8U Blue
• Born Sept 2015 - Aug 2016
• 4 away tournaments & the home tournament
• All pitching machine tournaments 

8U Navy
• Born Sept 2016 - Aug 2017
• 1 Practice/week starting in January
• Play as a team in the HSYSA league
• Play in 1 pitching machine tournament at the end of summer 

• 10U White
• Born Sept 2012 - Aug 2014
• 3 way tournaments, the Home Tournament, USA Softball Class C State Tournament
• A Team
• Top 12 Athletes
• Determined by Assessments
• Chosen by 10U Coaching Staff, 10U Board Age Rep, VP of the Board and President of the Board

10U Blue & Navy
• Born Sept 2012 - Aug 2014
• 3-4 away tournaments, the Home Tournament & might play in the USA Softball Class C State Tournament
• 2 equally divided B Teams
• Determined by Assessments

New Partnership!

Pirate Fastpitch is excited to announce that we will be partnering with 360U for our 2024 season. 360U will be coming to the Shipyard to provide 8 weeks of hitting instruction. Players will sign up for their preferred time slot with their age division, not necessarily with their team. Lessons will take place during the week, in place of the team lead hitting practices we had in the past. 

They will also be providing additional private and small group lessons. Watch your email if you are a current player or check our registration section to see current availability.
